"The Yamaha Six String Theory Guitar Competition," co-sponsored by Monster Cable, D’Addario Strings, Berklee College of Music, and Captain Fingers Productions, begins October 1, 2009 and ends on February 1, 2010. 

This is your chance to be featured on the upcoming "String Theory" album with some of the greatest guitarists around today. Do you have what it takes? 

We want to see videos of you playing with your band, a solo arrangement, duet performance, or any other performance that showcases your skills as a guitarist.  You can enter in one of six categories: Rock, Blues, Jazz/Fusion, Country, Acoustic, and Classical/Flamenco.  We are looking for more than speed and great guitar chops, so send us something that displays your musicianship and your virtuosity! 

Six finalists will be chosen to compete in a live performance at The Broad Stage in Los Angeles, CA on March 22, 2010.  A panel of professional guitarists will judge the competition and determine the winner. 

The grand prize winner will be featured as a special guest on a track with one of our all-star guitarists and awarded a full tuition scholarship to Berklee! Check out www.sixstringtheory.com for complete details on how to sign up as well as the many other prizes. 

The runners up will each receive a $100 prize package from D’Addario strings, and the grand prize winner will receive a 2-year string endorsement worth $1000 from D’Addario!
